Building A Smart Walking Stick

WeWALK is a smart cane company founded by Kursat Ceylan in 2018. Their smart canes feature GPS navigation and other advanced features to help make the world more accessible to the blind.

In honor of Blindness Equality Achievement Month, we’re going to hack together smart canes using ultrasonic sensors and Arduinos. These devices will allow users to detect how far they are from objects using vibration and/or sound. Stop in at our weekly drop-in sessions every Tuesday 3:30 – 5:00 to make one!
